Unit Description: Infantry Sections (Tommies) are the basic infantry unit for the British, they are built from the HQ and can construct various field defenses including trenches, hmg emplacements and mortar emlacements. Tommies move very slowly in neutral and enemy territory unless a Lieutenant is nearby to provide them with a speed boost, in captured territory the Tommies will move at the same pace as normal infantry. Note that the recon element upgrade discards this effect and allows your Tommies to move at regular speed in any territory.

Tommies have a few weapon upgrades including the Bren MG, this gun has 2 roles firstly to provide extra firepower against all enemy units. Secondly and more importantly it gives the upgraded squad the button vehicle ability. Once used, this ability will almost instantly 'pin' an enemy vehicle, decreasing it's line of sight and speed to almost nothing and completely stopping the vehicle from shooting your units. This is a great ability to use in combination with your own vehicles or armor to tackle enemy tanks.

The other upgrades available to Tommies are Recon Element and Rifle Grenades, recon element in short allows Tommies to move at regular speed in all territory and gives them the Deploy Marksman ability, allowing them to instantly kill 1 enemy soldier for 25 munitions, this is the British version of the sniper. Rifle Grenades provide extra infantry killing power and can be fired over large obstacles like buildings or hedgerows, these grenades have decent damage but are quite random in where they land. This upgrade also gives the smoke ability which is great for covering units taking fire or trying to retreat.
